The books are closed, the notes are heading to the printer, the program is drawn up and the presenters are fired up !

While numbers are down a few from last year, Convention 28 is shaping up nicely.

Spare a thought for the organisers as we will be there from '6 something' setting up (I'm coming straight from night shift, so auto pilot will be engaged!) .

IMRA will be there with Waterfall as well as our regular commercials and a few new ones as well. Although I'm feeling tired just thinking about it, I'm really looking forward to the day as well.

Introduce yourself if you spot me, I'm looking forward to putting faces to the names.....just hope the weather forecasters have got it wrong !

Registration, DVD order and information brochure for Convetion 28 - 2011

The three posts below have printable jpeg versions of the registration and DVD order forms as well as the brochure that will be distributed to model railway shops in the Sydney area.

To print the form successfully, right click on the image you wish to print, this will download the image from the blog site. 'Hover' over the downloaded image and you should see a "+" sign appear. Right click will bring the image up full size (even I can read it without glasses !) and a "file - print preview" will confirm what the printed image will look like, then print.

Mac folk - sorry, no idea !

Do not try and copy and print the small image of the blog page or you will need a magnifying glass to read it.

If all of the above fails let us know and we will arrange a snail mail copy to be sent to you.

We have been able to hold the price for another year to $55. This includes a set of printed notes.

As an encouragement to younger modellers this year we are offering a Junior registration of $25 for under 16's accompanied by a full fee paying attendee. Junior registration does not include a set of notes.

It is anticipated that brochures and registration forms will be available from the 13th of June, from this blog, and from hobby shops shortly after. A mail out will also occur around this date.

Demonstrations 2011

This year Ian Black will be displaying and demonstrating the conversion of RTR Lima cars to represent the iconic NSWGR's Southern Aurora.
Ian will have cars in various stages of the conversion process on display as well as the jigs and techniques he uses to achieve the end result.

This demonstration will run throughout the day and allow convention attendees to drop in and take a look or ask questions in between scheduled presentations.

I can confirm that the featured layout this year will be Waterfall, owned and operated by the Illawarra Model Railway Association.

Convention 28 - 2011

The next Modelling the Railways of NSW Convention will be held on Saturday 23 July 2011 at Loftus TAFE, Princes Hwy, Loftus.

Further details and ALL registration forms will appear on this blog in down loadable form as soon as the information becomes available.

All previous attendees will be notified by their nominated method in due course.

Loftus TAFE is a short walk from Loftus train station and parking will be available. The convention will include a mix of modelling and NSW prototype presentations as well as modelling demonstrations and commercial stands.

Canteen facilities will be "on campus" or feel free to BYO.

Any person interested in presenting or demonstrating a relevant modelling topic at the convention, or future conventions, should leave me a comment on this blog.
